N.A. Woodworth Tork-Lok Collet Chucks
The N.A. Woodworth Tork-Lok collet line offers flexibility and affordability, with much of the product available from stock. The Tork-Lok Arbor locates straight and tapered holes on true center within .0005 T.I.R. These arbors feature patented inclined flats that provide full arbor / collet contact throughout the range of operation for highest accuracy and torque transmission. Features include:
- Flat surfaces are in constant contact on both expansion and contraction, providing higher accuracy.
- Precision mated flats provide for greater torque transmission
- Built in safety stops control both expansion and contractions, thereby reducing collet breakage
- Metal to metal contact excludes foreign matter which in turn reduces wear and assures accuracy
- Preload features assures easy part removal
The Tork-Lok system is offered in 3 designs:
- DRAWBAR TYPE (as shown) - This is the most common. This long series offers 9 assemblies and 187 collets, ranging from .500" to 4.468". The short series offers 7 assemblies and 179 collets, ranging from .500" to 2.8125". Many components available from stock.
- TORK-LOK FIXTURE - This fixture combines the standard drawbar type arbors listed above, with a powerful locking mechanism to answer many machining needs, such as milling, drilling, gear cutting or shaving, reaming and other operations.
- AIR OPERATED TYPE - The combination of Woodworth's compact and lightweight air cylinder assembly with the drawbar type arbor answers the need for a quick load-unload chucking device for many operations. Since the chucking power required varies more due to the type of operation performed rather than the size of the collet, we prefer to engineer the application.
